Jim’s Journal: Fake it Until YOU Make it – NOT!

October 16, 2014 in Jim's Journal

I first heard that statement when I entered the workforce in the 80’s.  It’s risky and besides, who wants to deal with a phony?  Authenticity and transparency work best for me.  I refuse to live a Halloween lifestyle.  I’m at my best when I’m being authentic and my worse when I’m not.  Pretenders will never be contenders.  If you don’t know something, speak up.  My first manager, Marge Montgomery, told me early on that I wasn’t going to make it far in corporate if I didn’t ask questions.  This was during an impromptu coaching meeting where she was chiding me for getting a procedure wrong.  She had every right because I didn’t know what I was doing.  We have too many “fake-up artists” in the world.  Don’t become one!  Be yourself, because everyone else is taken.  You’re going to find that authenticity is a powerful ingredient for successful living and leading.  It also reduces stress!

We provide the most transformational and empowering tools and experiences that challenge people to live and perform OUT LOUD!
