Jim’s Journal: Your Room is Your Residence

August 13, 2013 in Jim's Journal

When it comes to training, facilitating, presenting or speaking, remember – your room is your residence.  Put your mark, your brand, on everything.  This includes your music, your visuals and your energy.  If I had a penny for every trainer who has send to me, “It wasn’t a good space, the room was too small,” I’d have my own island.  If you have a bad space, fix it.   If your room is too small get rid of some of the furniture.  You don’t have to stay in the same room the entire time.  Facilitate your review activities outside of the room.  Making the room your residence also includes managing your participants’ behavior, including the executives and leaders who stop by unannounced and look to take over your session.   Stop giving them the microphone without immediately setting up guidelines for their participation.  There’s no place like home – so make it that way!

We provide the most transformational and empowering tools and experiences that challenge people to live and perform OUT LOUD!
