Jim’s Journal: The Boss…and not Springsteen

June 12, 2013 in Jim's Journal

During our meeting last week with our seven-year-old son’s school teacher, I heard Miss Ellen utter a familiar phrase.  It’s a sentiment that my teachers used to describe my behavior when I was growing up.  Some would say I’m still that way now!  She said, “Ian (our little guy) wants to be the boss of everything.”  I knew exactly what she was talking about.  I smiled to myself and just nodded my head.  My mentor, Mike Jones, likes to say, “They become who you be.”  Well, this message is not one on raising children; it’s a thought about presenting, speaking, training and facilitating.  If you’re boring, predictable, uninspiring, lethargic and unimaginative it’s a good chance your learners will mirror that same behavior during the session.  If you want them to take risks, reach for the stars and play full out – TELL them, SHOW them, then LET them do it.  “They become who you be…Boss!”

We provide the most transformational and empowering tools and experiences that challenge people to live and perform OUT LOUD!
